What the video is about
In the video, Dominic Williams (founder of the team behind ICP) talks about Pakistan. He says the country is building a national chat app on ICP. The app is meant for a huge number of people — more than 100 million users. He also mentions that Pakistan is already using a special local version of the network called a “Cloud Engine” to run things inside the country.
What is actually happening
Pakistan is working with the ICP team to create its own messaging app, often called ChatT. The idea is to have a WhatsApp-style app (messages, groups, voice and video calls) where the data stays inside Pakistan instead of going to big foreign companies. The project has been moving forward through 2026, with testing and early versions of the app.
Why they say it can scale
ICP is a blockchain-based cloud network. Instead of one big central server, it splits work across many groups of computers called subnets. If the app gets popular and needs more power, more of these groups can be added. That’s the main reason supporters say it can grow to support a very large number of users.
In short: Pakistan’s plan to run a national messaging app on ICP and using that as an example that the network can handle apps used by tens or hundreds of millions of people.
